Safety Coordinator
Safety begins with planning
At CFE, our safety coordinators ensure that construction activities are carried out safely, systematically, and in full compliance with legal requirements. Acting as the client's appointed safety coordinator under Finnish Government Decree Vna 205/2009, we take responsibility for safety planning before site work begins and throughout the entire construction phase.
We don’t treat safety as a separate task – it's an essential part of managing a successful construction project.
✅ Safety as part of project success
Our safety coordinators work as an integrated part of the project team alongside the site supervisor and project manager. Together, we ensure that the construction site is safe and that the entire project progresses in a controlled and responsible manner.
🛡 Typical responsibilities:
Appointment and duties of the safety coordinator under Vna 205/2009
Preparation and review of safety documentation and plans
Monitoring of contractor safety briefings and records
Site safety inspections and handling of observations
Cooperation with occupational safety authorities and contractors
Reporting of incidents, near misses, and non-conformities
Participation in site meetings and safety reviews
Support during design and tendering phases from a safety perspective
